| We choose ALBA for their legendary track record of proven power with reliability. We were able to nearly double the power output to the tire with stock bore and stock reliability. Alba Action Sports Performance Teryx Engine Details: This is a performance engine built for the purpose of creating good power and torque. Given this engine will be used in a UTV, the second, (and probably just as important as the first) priority is reliability. UTV customers spend a majority of their time with the accelerator pushed to the floorboard. We here at Alba understand the importance behind ensuring that the customer's engine lives through the brutal abuse that a weekend at the desert creates. With that in mind we developed this engine to be a good blend of both power and reliability. This engine has been modified with several aftermarket components. Some orientated for power, some for durability to handle the extra power. *We here at Alba spent dozens of hours on the flow-bench to develop a very powerful and efficient port configuration. We complimented the custom port job with a 5-angle valve grind. *Sudco furnished the build with a set of 41mm downdraft carburetors. These are probably the best performing carbs on the market while still being very easy to tune. *We (Alba) made a custom intake kit and cable set to work with the new carbs. *Helping get the air in and out of the combustion chamber is a set of high performance cams supplied by Web Cam. The cams are complimented with a set of hard welded rocker arms, also supplied by Web Cam. *Ensuring that the valves meet the demands of the high performance cams has been accomplished with a performance valve spring kit (including titanium retainers) supplied by RD Spring Corp. *The pistons used were custom made for this engine and supplied by CP pistons. They are standard bore forged aluminum with a compression ratio of 12:1 We kept the bore and stroke to stock specs to ensure maximum engine life and reliability. *Connecting the pistons to the crank are a set of top-grade "knife-edged" connecting rods manufactured and supplied by Falicon. *A high flow stainless steel exhaust system has been engineered and installed by us at Alba. The kit uses a Flowmaster muffler which will not only last a lifetime with no maintenance, but creates a deep, clean and very reasonable level of sound. We chose this muffler for the customer who wants to ride all day long and still retain the ability to talk to their passengers, listen to music, and not get a headache in the process. *To top off the build we installed a Dynatek CDI module provided to us by Dynatek. This programmable CDI allows both an increase in the rev limiter as well as a user-interface to the ignition curve. This is an important ally for a performance engine to meet the needs of varying conditions and fuel usage. *The clutch was custom tuned by us at Alba. We manipulated engagement RPM, progression rate, and shift rates to provide a powerful and consistent power transfer. Clutching is very important on engines with a constant varying transmission (CVT). By combining all of the above modifications we here at Alba have composed an exceptionally powerful, fast-revving, high-torque engine while still keeping reliability in focus.
